Demotivators: Aphex Twin

I'm sure you've heard of Demotivators by now. If not, they're a spoof of those, ahem, "motivational" posters you see hanging up in offices which feature an inspiring picture with a concept and a trite, little P.C. statement undereneath. Well, of course, other people have spoofed the spoof of those motivational posters, and came up with stuff like, well, this.

This Is Probably Not A Good Thing

Here's some more fun with the strip that I originally posted in this entry. Again, not my alteration, but funny regardless.

Fun With Megatron

For my last Transformers entry of the week, I decided to have a little fun. This is a page from IDW's new Transformers comic series, issue number 5. The original page was blank, letting the pictures speak for themselves, but a little bit of forum silliness resulted in me adding this dialog. Also, the human's eyes were not originally spaced that far apart. That's just part of the spoof.
The first person who can tell me where the dialog came from wins 50 free Internets.

Optimus Prime: Leader, Soldier

Okay, as you can plainly see, Pat Lee's Transformers artwork outright sucks in comparison to Don Figueroa. Probably about the only thing Pat Lee does worse than draw Transformers is run a comic book company. That being said, he's still better than me at either prospect. Anyway, the artwork is not the point of today's entry, though. This is probably one of the most badass things Optimus Prime has ever done. It would have made an awesome scene for the live action movie, complete with narration, if only they decided to include combiners in the first movie. There are two things I love about this sequence: The narration is one, and the other is the fact that Prime literally blasts Devastator's head in half at point-blank range. How freaking cool is that?

Me Grimlock Badass!
This is the way Grimlock needs to be portrayed when he shows up in one of the new, live action Transformers movies set to begin in 2007. I for one was never happy with the way they made him nearly mentally handicapped in the cartoon series. Dreamwave really took the time to develop his character as a grizzled war veteran and brilliant military battle strategist, who happened to have a speech impediment which gave him an overall gruff demeanor. Nowhere did they develop his character more during their run than in their pre-Earth Cybertronian "War Within" series. These are three of my favorite sequences involving the big bruiser tank-turned-tyrannosaur.

Here's Grimlock giving the newly-appointed leader Optimus Prime some sage advice:

Finally, this is a far cry from "Me Grimlock love Kup's war stories! Tell Grimlock about Petrol Rabbits again!"

The New Transformers

A while back, I happened across a few episodes of the original Transformers cartoons. Upon watching them, I had to wonder what the hell I ever saw in that silly show. Then the now-defunct Dreamwave came around and made a Generation One Transformers series that the fans could be proud of. This is the first two pages of the first issue of the first mini-series that the company put out. This wasn't a series geared toward little kids anymore.
By the way, that's Megatron's hand and foot doing the, er, squishing. More to follow.

Chocolate Condoms Ad

Call me weird if you want, but I'd take the "After" girl. The "Before" one looks more sickly than shapely.
Or, as Captain Kirk would say, "I want you... on the [right], with the hoo-has!"
